Pure Michigan Maple Syrup is harvested between February and April. Ingredients
Cookie
2cupsbutterroom temperature
1 1/2cupsbrown sugarfirmly-packed
1egglarge
1/4cupMichigan Maple Sugar
1tspvanilla bean paste or vanilla extract
4 1/2cupsall purpose flour
1tspsea salt
Glaze
2cupspowdered sugar
3tablespoonsMichigan Maple Syrup
wateras needed; for thinning out
flakey sea saltas needed; for garnish
Instructions

Preheat oven to 350ºF
In a mixing bowl fitted with paddle attachment, combine room temp butter, brown sugar and cream together till combined well
Add egg and Michigan Maple syrup, mix well then scrape well
Add flour, mix well, scrape down as needed, let dough chill in refrigerator for about 30 minutes
Using a small cookie scoop, scoop out on to a sheet tray with parchment or silicone mat
Bake for 8-12 minutes, till slighlty golden brown, let cool
Glaze
Sift powder sugar into new bowl
Add maple syrup and mix till combined, if too thick add water as needed to thin out till desired glaze consistency
Place glaze into a pastry bag or ziplock cut a small hole at the bottom and glaze cooled cookie
Before the glaze hardens finish with a little bit of flakey sea salt
