AgroLiquid: The Future of Fertilizer, and Fertilizing the Future
By Kassie Acker, 2024 Michigan GROWN, Michigan GREAT Ambassador
Moving through its fourth decade of operation, AgroLiquid was founded in 1983 in Mid-Michigan. Before their founding, Douglas Cook and Troy Bancroft, a father and son-in-law duo, made a laboratory out of their backyard shed. There the pair created their own liquid fertilizers to boost crop nutrition, planting the seed for their business opportunity. From the beginning, AgroLiquid formulated products and conducted farming practices that protected the environment and soil health. Two generations later, AgroLiquid has continued and expanded on those priorities.
Invested in research, AgroLiquid upholds integrity for their work by dedicating countless hours to developing their fertilizer products. AgroLiquid research promotes efficient responsible products to optimize yield potential in row crops, fruits, and vegetables. Their range can support the diversity of Michigan’s 300+ commodities, as well as other crops across the nation!
AgroLiquid not only invests in research to build their products and support crop production, but they take pride in investing in the future of agriculture. In St. Johns, Michigan, their headquarters is home to the IQHub. At the IQHub, learners of all ages can explore agriculture through the lenses of history, science, and innovation. Operating as a non-profit, admission is entirely free! The work of the IQHub further supports AgroLiquids’ purpose in educating the community and the future of agriculture.
As new supporters of the Michigan Ag Council and the Michigan GROWN, Michigan GREAT Ambassador Program, AgroLiquid finds value in building awareness for agriculture. Through this connection relationships can be formed within the agriculture industry, allowing for education opportunities. As sponsors of the Michigan GROWN, Michigan GREAT Ambassadors, Nick Bancroft, President and CEO of AgroLiquid presents this message on the program, “It aligns with AgroLiquid’s mission of supporting education and community enhancement through our Liquid Cares Philanthropy program. We seek to promote the well-being in the places we call home by supporting organizations like this. Ambassadors in agriculture represent the next generation of our industry, bridging the gap between farmers and consumers. Their passion and dedication ensure a future for sustainable farming.”
Thank you, AgroLiquid for your dedication to agriculture and education, we are elated to welcome you to the Michigan Ag Council!
